Hi, I’m PJ the Chihuahua!  I’m just 5-pounds and about 4-years-old and seeking a forever sidekick for all my future puppy adventures.  It’s been a bit of a scary roller coaster since finding myself at the shelter. I was scheduled to be euthanized, but am so grateful I was rescued just in the nick of time!  I gave about a million kisses in the car once I realized the shelter was in the rear view and a future of love was in the horizon... that’s all I’ve ever longed for.  I’m a very energetic boy, and have endless kisses and affection to shower you with daily.  I wasn’t previously socialized and am still learning how to make friends so I can be standoffish and maybe a bit bratty when it comes to other dogs (I guess I’ve got that tiny, but mighty attitude!).  I prefer to keep my parents all to myself and will do best in a home as the only pet. I’d say I’m your typical Chihuahua with a larger than life personality who can easily fit in your bag to accompany you wherever you want to go.  I’ll do best with a savvy pet parent who has Alpha qualities, otherwise I’m sure to take over and I’ve been told I should never be the leader (hah!).  I'm in good health other than a luxating patella, which just means my kneecap moves out of its location from time to time.  I can go still go on walks though, but better if I'm carried for anything too strenuous like hikes.  My perfect pet parent will have experience with little dogs (Chi-experience is even better!), will have a calm home with no young kids and no other animals, and not work long hours. Even though I’m a little guy, I have a huge heart and want to fill it with memories of us together.  Operation forever home is underway and I hope it’s with you! Remember... good things come in small packages!
